Grant Funding enables Pimicikamak Okimawin to practice responsible and thoughtful planning, execution and management of programs that are tailored to our nation’s needs.

Pimicikamak now has more freedom to heal the people, heal the land, and heal the Nation.

2018-2019 had allowed the Pimicikamak Administration Office to continue building capacity by increasing their hands-on management of programs, initiatives and personal skills development of the staff.

The ICT workers initiated the setup of a Pimicikamak server for data storage and management.  ICT also designed a system to set up an audio-visual system in the Winnipeg office, which will allow for more meetings to be held remotely.

Pimicikamak program coordinators took on a larger project management role by submitting budgets, schedules and proposals for community-driven workplans that required funding from the Wellness programs budget.

The financial and administration team started implementing protocols for cheque runs, automating payroll processes and incorporating group benefits for the POAO team. This had greatly enhanced the management capacity of the office, and also increased the overall morale of the team.

Manitoba Hydro Grant Funds enables Pimicikamak Okimawin re-establish its ability to govern itself and develop capacity in working towards eradicating mass poverty and mass unemployment.
